6 Individuals Arrested by Authorities for Allegedly Selling Fake Vax-Card in Manila

Six (6) individuals who were accused of allegedly selling fake vaccination cards (vax-card) in Manila were arrested by the authorities.

Six people were arrested after Northern Police District (NPD) District Special Operation Unit (DSOU) personnel raided an enterprise in C.M. that was allegedly creating phony COVID-19 immunization cards. Manila’s Recto. The arrest was made after a confidential informant informed them that the accused were distributing fraudulent COVID-19 immunization cards in the cities of Caloocan and Valenzuela.

According to NPD Director P/BGen. Jose Santiago Hidalgo, Jr. the raid was carried out by DSOU operatives led by P/Maj. Vicky Tamayo which resulted in the arrest of Geraldine Vargas, 51 of Dagupan St., Tondo, Camille Cressida Halili, 34 of Batanes St. Sampaloc, Janneth Viernes, 42 of D. Aquino St. 4th Avenue, Caloocan City, Gengen Subito, 34 of Oroquieta St. Sta Cruz, Nikko Molina, 18 of Pasillo I Central Market and Ronaldo Benitez, 31 of Int. 2 Brgy. 310 Sta Cruz, Manila.

In exchange for P1,800.00 marked money, a police poseur-buyer was able to obtain a phony Caloocan City health immunization card. As a result, operatives raided the stated establishment right away, arresting many people.

Authorities recovered many Caloocan and Valenzuela City health vaccination cards, as well as fraudulent COVID-19 antigen test findings and vaccine receipts. Aside from that, the abovementioned establishment was raided and the equipment for processing bogus documents, marked money utilized in the entrapment operation, and P2,300.00 cash was recovered.

NPD has taken possession of the suspects. The accused were charged with violating Art. 172 of the Revised Penal Code in respect to Rule XI Section 1 paragraph B of RA No. 11332’s Implementing Rules and Regulations or allegedly false vaccination cards.
